Why I Love Local Theatre in Erie
This past weekend reminded me of something simple—but powerful:
I genuinely love local theatre in Erie.
I had the chance to attend:
Cathedral Prep High School’s Les Misérables
General McLane High School’s annual Broadway Dinner
Both were incredible.
Not “good for students.”
Not “impressive for a local show.”
Just… incredible.
And what stood out wasn’t just the talent.
It was the energy in the room—the connection, the emotion, the shared experience.
What Local Theatre in Erie Shows Us About Life
If you think about it, productions like Les Misérables are built on:
Stress
Trauma
Conflict
Loss
Redemption
In other words…
They mirror real life.
That’s why local theatre in Erie resonates so deeply—it gives us a way to experience life’s hardest moments in a contained, meaningful way.
On stage:
the struggle is structured
the story moves forward
there is resolution
But in real life?
That’s where things get harder.
The Power of Vision Behind Local Theatre in Erie
At General McLane, I had the opportunity to connect with local legend Rick Scaletta, the founder of the Broadway Dinner.
What stood out to me wasn’t just the performance—it was what’s been built over time.
Night after night.
Year after year.
Full rooms.
Consistent excellence.
This is what makes local theatre in Erie so inspiring.
It’s what happens when one person commits to a vision long enough for it to become something bigger than them.
At some point, it stops being an idea…
…and becomes an institution.
That’s what I’m building with Authentic Wellness & Empowerment.
That’s what I envision for LECAWE.
The Difference Between Watching Drama and Living It
When you’re sitting in the audience, you feel everything:
tension
heartbreak
uncertainty
But you’re not overwhelmed by it.
Because you know:
👉 This is a performance.
Now compare that to your own life.
When stress, trauma, or relationship drama shows up:
there’s no script
no clear resolution
no defined ending
And for many people, it starts to feel like:
too much.
When Life Feels Like Too Much
This is where the shift happens.
A lot of people are carrying:
unresolved stress
past trauma
ongoing relationship conflict
And trying to push through it alone.
But instead of feeling like a meaningful story…
Life starts to feel like:
overwhelm
emotional exhaustion
confusion about what to do next
This is where real support matters.
How We Help at Authentic Wellness & Empowerment
At Authentic Wellness & Empowerment (AWE), we help people move from that overwhelmed state into something much stronger:
capacity.
Capacity is your ability to:
handle stress without shutting down
navigate relationships with clarity
take action even when life feels heavy
We use proven, trauma-informed counseling approaches to help you:
process what’s unresolved
reduce emotional intensity
build real strategies that work
Not just in a session…
…but in your daily life.
From Local Theatre in Erie to Real Life Strength
Here’s the connection:
Local theatre in Erie shows us what stress, trauma, and drama look like in a story.
At AWE, we help you deal with those same realities in your own life—without being controlled by them.
Because the goal isn’t to eliminate difficulty.
The goal is to become someone who can handle it.
Carry or Collapse
Life is going to put weight on you.
That part is guaranteed.
The question is:
👉 Will you carry it—or collapse under it?
And if you’ve been collapsing lately…
That doesn’t mean something is wrong with you.
It means your capacity needs to be built.
You Don’t Have to Do This Alone
If you’re feeling:
overwhelmed by stress
stuck in patterns of conflict
weighed down by past experiences
You don’t have to figure it out on your own.
There is a path forward—and it’s more practical than most people realize.

Because it reminds me how powerful human stories can be.
But your life isn’t meant to stay stuck in the hardest parts of that story.
You can:
process what you’ve been through
build your capacity
move forward with clarity and courage
And when you do…
You’re not just watching something meaningful.
You’re living it.
